  3. PAGESTREAM 2.2HL TO PAGESTREAM 2.21 PATCH PROGRAM
  4.  
  5. PageStream has recently been upgraded to version 2.21. The changes are:
  6.  
  7. 2.2HL to 2.21 Changes:
  8.  
  9. - New Break Link command. (replaces Shift Publish.) requires HotLinks
  10. - HotLinks notifies are no longer missed.
  11. - Text objects no longer shift when edited.
  12. - Clicking on the scrollbox edge instead of the scrollbar now has no
  13.   effect.
  14. - Gold Disk Font Manager converted Compugraphic fonts have incorrect
  15.   style information. 2.21 accepts them anyway.
  16. - Changed keyboard equivalents for the toolbox. 2.2HL had incorrect
  17.   equivalents.
  18. - Uses Workbench 3.0 menus and scrollbars if Workbench 3.0 is used.
  19. - Saving tag files and publishing DTXT text files now writes out correct
  20.   baseline and indent values.
  21.  
  22. 2.2 to 2.2HL Changes:
  23.  
  24. - HotLinks compatibility fixed.
  25. - Picture window graphic import fixed.

  27. UPGRADING TO PAGESTREAM 2.21
  28.  
  29. This archive contains a patch program to convert PageStream 2.2HL to
  30. PageStream 2.21. The program makes all the changes necessary to upgrade
  31. your PageStream 2.2HL to PageStream 2.21. This patch cannot be applied
  32. to earlier versions of PageStream.
  33.  
  34. After the patch is complete, the original version of PageStream2
  35. will be renamed to PageStream2.old, the new version will be named
  36. PageStream2. The PageStream2.old file may be deleted if the patch
  37. is successfully completed.

  39. To apply the patch, do the following:
  40.  
  41. 1) Open a Shell.
  42.  
  43. 2) Change to the drawer on your hard drive where your copy of
  44.    PageStream is kept. If you do not have a hard drive, you can run the
  45.    patch in RAM if you have enough memory.
  46.  
  47.    example:  cd work:pagestream
  48.  
  49. 3) Copy the patch file to this directory.
  50.  
  51.    example:  copy ram:pgs221_patch/pgs22.pch to ""
  52.  
  53. 4) Execute the patch.
  54.  
  55.    example:  lpatch -ppgs221.pch PageStream2
  56.  
  57.    Note: the 'ppgs' is not a typo. Type the above line exactly as
  58.    shown.
  59.  
  60. 5) The lpatch program creates a new program called 'PageStream2.new'.
  61.    Verify that this program has been created by listing the directory.
  62.  
  63.    example:  dir
  64.  
  65. 6) Delete the old PageStream2 program.
  66.  
  67.    example:  delete pagestream2
  68.  
  69. 7) Rename the PageStream2.new program.
  70.  
  71.    example:  rename pagestream2.new PageStream2
  72.  
  73.  
  74. That's it. Your copy of PageStream is now fully updated to 2.21.
